Gift for Hoover Hall Supports Community

Mark FillipellMark A. Filippell ’75 and spouse, Buffy, have made a gift to support the construction of Hoover Hall, which will replace the Hub dining center in the Union Building, as the primary student dining option on campus. Mark notes, “Hoover Hall will be transformative to DePauw’s intellectual and social environment. Our campus community, students and professors alike, will be brought together to break bread and share ideas. We should all applaud the stimulating interaction that this landmark facility will engender.” Mark majored in economics at DePauw, where he was a Rector Scholar and member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.  He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and Juris Doctor degree from Michigan Law School.  A managing director at Western Reserve Partners LLC, an investment banking firm in Cleveland, Mark has volunteered by hosting Winter Term students at Western Reserve Partners and speaking as a McDermond Center lecturer.  Buffy Gordon Filippell is a graduate of Indiana University and president of Team Work Online, an executive search organization for the sports industry
